These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the Temple Browser website at templebrowser.com ("the Site") and the Temple Browser application ("the App"), together "the Service", provided by Temple Browser ("Temple", "we", "us"). By downloading, installing, or using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
Temple Browser is a free web browser for Windows and Android, with built-in ad and tracker blocking and related privacy features. We offer it at no charge and are not obliged to provide it indefinitely; we may change, suspend, or discontinue any part of the Service at any time.
We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to download and use the App for your own use. The App is proprietary software. You agree not to:
You are explicitly welcome to inspect, reverse engineer, decompile, monitor, and analyse the App and its network traffic. We have nothing to hide: if pulling it apart is what convinces you that Temple collects no data and sends nothing home, please do. The privacy claims on this site are meant to be verified, not taken on faith.
The Service is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including but not limited to fitness for a particular purpose, merchantability, and non-infringement. In particular, we do not warrant that:
You use the Service at your own risk.
The App is a tool for accessing the web. We are not responsible for the content, accuracy, safety, or practices of any third-party websites, services, or downloads you access through it. Features that rely on third-party networks or services (for example the Tor network, a VPN provider, or device casting) are subject to those third parties' own terms and availability.
Installers are distributed without a paid code-signing certificate, so your operating system may show a warning (such as Windows SmartScreen) before running them. This is expected and explained on the Site. Only download the App from templebrowser.com or our official release page, and verify the published checksums if you wish.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Temple and the developer will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of data, profits, or goodwill, arising out of or relating to your use of (or inability to use) the Service. Because the Service is provided free of charge, our total aggregate liability to you for any claim relating to the Service is limited to the amount you paid for it, which is zero. Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations, so some of these may not apply to you.
We may update these Terms as the Service evolves. When we do, we'll update the "Last updated" date above. Continuing to use the Service after changes means you accept the updated Terms.
These Terms are governed by the laws applicable in the operator's country of residence, without regard to conflict-of-law principles, except where mandatory local consumer-protection laws give you stronger rights.
